In talking about doing the nude scene in 'Wit' with my beloved husband: 'Drew, does it bother you that I'll be middle aged, buck naked and bald in front of your parents ' 'Gosh, sweetheart,' he said, 'aren't actors supposed to take their clothes off on stage? Besides, you're so beautiful.'

"... But one of the great pleasures of working in the theater is that behind the poetry or the metaphysics or the mystery of human relationships and dozens of the things that might be in a play, I love the way that it ends up being an obsession with the level of certain lights, the timing of certain sound effects, the pace of somebody's entrance.

Just back from a wonderful, treasured, delight of a party at Redgie and Holly's warm, art-filled house. (Kelekian and his 'secret lover' EM Ashford), Jax production 'Wit'. On the wall in his study this quotation: 'Aviation in itself is not inherently dangerous. But to an even greater degree than the sea, it is terribly unforgiving of any carelessness, incapacity or neglect.' Acting, as well, I think.

Updated: Fri, May 25 10:12 AM EDT : DUBLIN, Ireland (Reuters) - A woman whose wrist was broken after a swan knocked her to the ground and battered her in a Dublin park has lost a $32,600 injury action against the state, Irish newspapers said Friday.
Mary Ryan, 71, told a Dublin court that on the day of the attack she had just fed the swan -- a resident of the central Phoenix Park for the past nine years -- and "When I turned around I couldn't believe what I was seeing," she said. "He was coming for me and started beating me on the legs with his wings. He knocked me knocked me to the ground...and tried to peck my head."
Ryan, who managed to escape after a passing motorist distracted the swan by sounding his horn, said her wrist had been disfigured and she still suffered back pain as a result of the incident, reports said. Ryan said park commissioners should have put up signs warning the public about "the mischievous propensity and uncertain temperament" of swans.
However, Judge Kevin Haugh ruled that no negligence had been established against the park authorities, who could not be held responsible for a swan that had flown on to their land. He said he was satisfied that swans were not given to menacing behavior but accepted that this particular one had been having "a very bad day."
( Can it be? Oscar lives! I'm so delighted that the Swans are on the Rampage! Who'd've thunk? Must be something in the atmosphere - I sure as hell have been feeling it! :-) 5/29/01
