Crow’s grandmother puts in a very funny portrait of a character who’s basically an addict...We live in a world where most of us live in separate worlds—right, left, rich, poor, black, white ad infinitum. The struggles of working class heroes are remote to those outside their world. Spotswood’s play does what good theater should. He takes you do a different world. He puts you in the Starkeys’ shoes and makes you feel what they feel. Marty Fugate. Your Observer
Under the direction of Jason Cannon, the cast of Doublewide delivers a feeling portrait of one family’s life. Kay Kipling, Sarasota Magazine
This is a family that asks for nothing more than a chance, and yet every time they feel they’re catching up or breaking even, they have to deal with another calamity, whether it’s losing land or dealing with one of several other issues that can threaten what little security they have in a flash...this production do(es) make us appreciate what these characters represent and how easily lives can be upended. Kim Crow brings a lot of life and energy ...when she’s caring for her son, when you can feel the heart beating strongly within her. Jay Handleman Herald-Tribune
Florida Studio Theatre fields a very strong cast. Todd Licea as Big Jim is the strong center of his family, loving and paternal. Gisela Chípe is Sharon, his loving wife, trying to support him in every way, but sometimes coming up just a tiny bit short. Kim Crow is Coral, bored with her life in retirement, wanting to help her son however she can. Alexa Fajardo Eldridge is Lorelai, a normal teenage for whom everything is a major dramatic happening. Nick Piacente is Chuck, who comes to tutor Lorelei and gets caught up in her confidence, something he doesn't have. Directed by Jason Cannon, these actors all demonstrate the warmth and caring a loving family exudes.
